Events & Swedish traditions

We celebrate together

Do you miss taking part in Swedish traditions? At Little Swedes we celebrate Midsummer, Easter, Christmas and other holidays with activities for the very youngest – and meet beloved Swedish children’s book characters.

Bamseloppet

Fresh air, full speed and lots of joy with Sweden’s most loved children’s character. Bamseloppet (a children’s run) wants to increase the joy of being active – in 2026 the third edition was held in Switzerland.

Midsummer

Flower wreaths, “Små grodorna” (the little frogs song) and dancing around the Midsummer pole – the highlight of the year for many families.

Easter breakfast with egg hunt

Easter witches, Easter eggs and a shared breakfast where the little ones hunt for eggs together.

Gingerbread baking & Christmas

The smell of gingerbread biscuits, Advent fika (coffee break with a snack) and Christmas songs – we bake and craft before Christmas.

Children’s book characters

Pettson & Findus, Pippi Långstrump (Pippi Longstocking), Babblarna, Mamma Mu – themed events where beloved characters come to life.

Theatre & culture

Swedish children’s theatre and cultural experiences that make Sweden come alive even when growing up abroad.
