About Little Swedes

A growing community

We want to support Swedish parents of small children abroad in passing the Swedish language on to their children at an early age. We promote Swedish culture and its traditions – so that the language becomes a natural part of the children’s upbringing and builds bridges to older generations in Sweden.

The founders

Little Swedes takes shape

During her parental leave, Linn André wanted to find a project where she could grow personally – and at the same time give something to her own and other people’s children. The dream was a Swedish children’s library in Zürich. Linn has worked with events before, loves Swedish cooking and cares a lot about children experiencing Swedish smells and tastes.

Julia Meyer-Chang has many years of experience in marketing and communication and a large network of Swedish mums. She knows how important it is to keep Swedish alive at home, even with four languages in everyday life.

Linn and Julia were connected through SWEA because they shared the same vision – and then things moved fast. Little Swedes started at a high pace and has grown in three years into a community of over 250 families.

“We want our children to feel proud of their Swedish roots, and contact with children who speak Swedish feels especially important.”Linn & Julia
